Ryde Eisteddfod, New Piano Accompaniment Awards

The Guild has created a series of new Accompaniment Awards at this years Ryde Eisteddfod aimed at encouraging young pianists to become involved in accompaniment, starting from  Grade 1 and stepping through to the Open Championship.

Under section 216 there are 5 graded events

  • 216A Grade 1/2 Piano Accompaniment of a work for Piano and Instrument.

    • Length of work – approx. 2 minutes
    • Prize: – $20
    • Entry fee: $7
    • Music: own choice.
    • Piano part to be equivalent to Grade 1 or 2 AMEB Piano syllabus.
  • 216B Grade 3/4 Piano Accompaniment of a work for piano and instrument

    • Length of work – approx. 3 minutes
    • Prize: $40
    • Entry fee $10
    • Music: own choice
    • Piano part to be equivalent to Grade 3 or 4 AMEB Piano syllabus.
  • 216C Grade 5/6 Piano Accompaniment of a work for piano and instrument
    • Length of work: approx. 4 minutes
    • Prize: $60
    • Entry fee $12
    • Music: own choice
    • Piano part to be equivalent to Grade 5 or 6 AMEB Piano syllabus.
  • 216D Grade 7/8 Piano Accompaniment of a work for piano and instrument

    • Length of work – approx. 5 minutes
    • Prize: $80
    • Entry fee $12
    • Music: Own choice
    • Piano part to be equivalent to Grade 7 or 8 AMEB Piano syllabus.
  • 216E Open Piano Accompaniment – CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT

    • Length of work  – approx. 7 minutes
    • Prize: $100
    • Entry fee $15
    • Music: Must be a movement(s) of a sonata where the piano has a major role.
    • Piano Level – ANY LEVEL.
